Jon Stewart Tears Up During Stephen Colbert's Moving Off-Script Speech (Video)

Jon Stewart received blessings from nearly every former correspondent of "The Daily Show" in the finale last night, but a special moment was reserved for Stephen Colbert.

He likened the two of them to Frodo and Sam from "The Lord of the Rings" -- an appropriate comparison considering Stewart's courage and wisdom amid so much chaos throughout the years.

But after wishing him a prosperous journey back to "the pit of Orcs" that is New Jersey, Colbert stepped out of character and addressed Stewart as his longtime friend.

He listed the specific elements of Stewart's work that greatly influenced him before praising him as a "great artist" who is "infuriatingly good at his job."
