Steven Avery's Former Fiancée Claims He's Guilty Of Murder (Video)
Netflix's hit docu-series “Making A Murderer” paints a sympathetic portrait of Steven Avery as an innocent man twice convicted of crimes he did not commit.
But in a new interview, Avery's ex-fiancée, Jodi Stachowski, challenges this depiction.
Stachowski appeared in an interview with “Nancy Grace” producer Natisha Lance to voice her views on the controversial case. Though in “Making A Murderer” she comes across as a supportive, loving partner, Stachowski vehemently denies ever loving Avery and adds,
He's not innocent.
Stachowski and Avery split while the latter was in jail awaiting trial for the murder of Teresa Halbach. She claims to have received multiple letters from her former fiancé and notes the only one she opened was rife with threats.
Stachowski is just the latest individual to challenge the way in which Avery is depicted on “Making A Murderer.” Several, including Nancy Grace, have criticized the producers' apparent ignorance of evidence indicating Avery's culpability in Halbach's death.
Stachowski's interview airs on HLN Wednesday, January 13 at 8 pm. Watch a clip from the piece here.
