If Taylor loves one thing, it’s a stadium show.
Taylor Swift and sold-out stadiums are a match made in heaven. The singer knows how to rock the stage, and she’s set to flaunt those skills again on her upcoming The Eras Tour. If you’ve never witnessed Swift’s star-power live, here are some of her most iconic moments on tour.
Swift’s Fearless era is quite nostalgic. This period gave the world hits like “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story.” If those bops weren’t indicators that Swift was destined for stardom, then her 2009 Fearless tour is a perfect contender.
Swift brought out all the creative frills for this headlining tour — like a sparkly guitar and even sparklier fits. According to Billboard, the concert series grossed over $40 million. Talk about legendary.
The singer incorporated lavender hues in her stage design and wardrobe. This was also the beginning of her penchant for surprise guests. Her BFF Selena Gomez joined her on stage during her stint at Madison Square Garden in November 2011. The duo performed Gomez’s forever bop, “Who Says.”
OK, remember when Swift practically invented the color red? In support of her 2012 Red album, the pop star hit the road alongside Ed Sheeran. The tour kicked off in March 2013 in Nebraska, and they traveled to cities like Miami, Houston, and three nights in Nashville.
If Red was red, her 2015 1989 World Tour was crystal blue. The tour was certainly a star-studded event, including guest appearances from artists like Justin Timberlake, Gomez (again), and Serena Williams to name a few.
One of the tour’s most notable appearances came during her Halloween show in Florida. There, Swift tapped into her inner Olaf from Frozen and brought out Idina Menzel (who voices Queen Elsa) to perform “Let It Go.” Honestly, who can ever let this magical moment go? Not me.
In May 2018, Swift embarked on her Reputation tour, where Shawn Mendes popped up as a guest on May 18 in Pasadena, California. Visually, the tour featured Swift owning the color red once more, though this time it was a more crimson shade.
Of course, the Reputation tour wasn’t without its iconic (and slightly shady) moments. As a possible nod to the growing comments of Swift being “a snake” at the time, the singer used several inflatable snakes as set pieces during the tour.
Swift planned to tour the Lover album in 2020, but it was axed due to the pandemic. That same year, she released Folklore and Evermore but never toured either. Since she hasn’t hit the road in nearly four years, her return to the stage will surely be a major moment not to miss.
