Despite Stranger Things 4 landing 13 nominations for the 2022 Emmys, fans are up in arms over Sadie Sink being snubbed in the acting category.

Sadie Sink’s performance in Season 4 was remarkable, something fans noted even before the Emmys nominations were upon us. When she was left out of the announcement, they were not pleased.
Viewers questioned whether the ineligibility of Volume 2 for the Emmys nomination window hurt Sink’s chances (the final two episodes released after the window closed), since some of her finest work was in those later installments.
Sink’s performance as Max had it all: Sadness, joy, and an emotional journey to forgive herself for Billy’s passing. Plus she also got Vecna in her face multiple times. The Television Academy apparently wasn’t impressed enough.
Sink wasn’t the only one snubbed from the cast. As many fans noted, her costars, many of whom turned in stellar showings, were also ignored.
But as the de facto female lead in Hawkins (since Eleven was trapped in Brenner's lab), Sink was the main focus, and ignoring her performance didn’t sit right with fans.
As many noted, with Eleven off on her own and half the cast on a road trip from California or in the USSR, Sink was left to carry the emotional weight of the Hawkins storyline, and she did it well.
It’s like Emmys voters don’t take acting as seriously when there’s VFX around.
Many declared Sadie Sink’s snub to be their villain origin story.
Several Twitter users posted their favorite Sadie Sink scenes from the season, with her “Running Up That Hill” moment out of the Upside Down as a major one.
But perhaps this is just proof fans are all still in the Upside Down...
All episodes of Stranger Things 1 through 4 are streaming on Netflix. Season 5 is expected out in 2024.
