Kimmy's Love Interest For Season 3 Of 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt' Is A 'Hamilton' Star
Kimmy Schmidt is definitely not going to want to miss her shot at love this season on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt because it's with a Hamilton superstar!
Last season, the show's romance arcs shifted away from Kimmy and onto Titus, Lillian, and Jacquelyn, who each started up romances with Mikey, Fred Durst, and Russ, respectively, while Kimmy had to say goodbye to her boyfriend Dong.
But Season 3 sees Kimmy ready to start things up with a new guy, played by none other than Thomas Jefferson/Lafayette from Hamilton.
Daveed Diggs recurs in the new season as a college student who Kimmy strikes up a connection with when she enrolls in a community college.
If any of you have seen Daveed's performance as Bow's hippie brother Jonah on Black-ish, then is Kimmy Schmidt character will feel pretty familiar. He has a love of philosophy and is constantly blowing Kimmy's mind with complex philosophical hypotheticals.
Kimmy and Daveed's character seem perfect together, but of course, there has to be something that goes crazy. That twist comes at the end of episode 6, when...
SPOILER ALERT
...Daveed's character informs Kimmy he's planning on becoming a reverend. Considering Kimmy's very complicated past with reverends (AKA, one kidnapped her and forced her to live in a bunker underground for years), she doesn't take this information well.
Daveed isn't the only superstar to pop up this season of "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt." Laura Dern, Ray Liotta, and Andrea Martin all appear in Season 3, along with two of Tina Fey's old Saturday Night Live buddies Maya Rudolph and Rachel Dratch!
Fred Armisen, Anna Camp, Amy Sedaris, Jon Hamm, David Cross, and Josh Charles are all in the new season as well, reprising their roles from Season 2.
You can stop singing "What'd I Miss" this Friday when the third season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt begins streaming on Netflix.
