Zayn Malik Talks About Hooking Up With Gigi Hadid In His 'Pillowtalk' Video
Zayn Malik has had quite the year.
The former member of One Direction chose to split from the boy band last March and has been pursuing his music as a solo artist.
Since the move, Zayn released "PILLOWTALK," his number one single, and will release a new album later this month. He's also in a very public relationship with model Gigi Hadid.
On top of all that, Zayn is now on the cover of Complex magazine, and he will perform at the iHeartRadio concert, so big things are headed his way.
The singer sat down with Complex for an extensive interview about his music, love life, time with One Direction and plans for the future.
He was asked about what it's like to be a huge pop star and date someone who is also "in the spotlight." In response to if he's getting used to it, Zayn told Complex,
I try to keep the two very separate. I try to, as much as I can. But there's only so much you can do.
When asked if it's getting any easier, Zayn also said,
I'm learning to deal with it. It's just one of those things now, in the background. I just leave it as a bit of a noise in the background.
Zayn opened up about his relationship with Gigi -- specifically about what was documented as part of his "PILLOWTALK" music video.
In the video, Zayn and Gigi make out and are very intimate with each other. Complex mentioned it seems like they let their guard down and weren't even acting. Zayn commented,
To be honest, the reason it was used was because we were just messing around. It wasn't even, like, part of the shoot. You know when they say, 'action?' They didn't do that. It was just rolling.
Isn't that ADORABLE?! All that sexy stuff they did in the video was REAL. They are just so in love, it hurts.
I really hope Gigi gets to star in a few more of Zayn's music videos because, let me just say, that sh*t was steamy AF.
If you (for some strange reason) haven't seen it yet, then um, drop everything and watch.
I hope your AC is turned on because it's about to get hot in here.
