This 25-Year-Old Entrepreneur Wants To Bomb Your Bathtub With Jewelry

The Pearl Bath Bomb Experience

They're basically Kinder eggs for adults. You put a bath bomb in your tub, watch it fizz, and just when you think the party's over, you find a pearl holding a cocktail ring inside. In my opinion, that's how all baths should go down.

Tessa Medlock, founder of Pearl Bath Bombs, got the idea after her boyfriend proposed with a bath bomb holding her engagement ring inside. A proposal that's crafty and adorable? Take note, boys.

I spoke with Tessa about what it's like being a young business owner, and so far, it seems the experience has been overwhelmingly positive.

She said,

I started selling them right before Christmas, and I completely sold out... The craziest thing is, I filmed a video on my iPhone of my product and I uploaded it to our Facebook account and it went viral on the very first day. I got 3 million organic views.

As of now, the video has over 10 million Facebook views, which might be why Tessa had to move her bomb-making operation (it's not what it sounds like) out of her condo and into a factory.

It helps that Tessa majored in media studies in college and got her post-graduate degree in marketing. With that educational background and a passion for all-natural products, she runs the entire operation practically on her own.

And that means working long days. When I asked Tessa what her typical day is like, she told me she gets up at 7 am every morning and works a full nine-to-five day with her team. Then, she switches over to marketing tasks and ends her day around 11 at night.

That is some serious commitment. But she stays motivated by keeping her goals in sight, saying,

I have been working seven days a week, long hours, but there's always an end goal. I believe if you work hard, you can make all of your dreams and your goals happen.

And as for where she'd love to take a bath? Try at the top of a skyscraper with a gorgeous view of NYC.

Though, this bath situation doesn't look so bad either...

After speaking with Tessa, I had to try the bath bombs for myself. She was nice enough to send me a few, so I cleared my Saturday afternoon for a little luxury.

I should note that in no way were these photos totally staged. I always bathe in a bathing suit with my dog, a full face of makeup and a frosty bottle of champagne. Because that's just how I do.

There's nothing like a soothing bath after a long work week.

So, so soothing.

Baths are for sharing with your closest friends.

Make personal hygiene entertaining again.

Once you bathe in pink water, you'll never go back.

IT'S PINK!

Baths are great for reflecting on life's great mysteries, such as, what will I have for lunch?

Nachos? But I had that yesterday...

Don't mind me, just chilling in the bath like a normal person.

Totally normal.

Bath time just got classy as f*ck.

Living the high life.

So, yeah, I'd say I enjoyed the bath bombs. I should mention the scents are intense when you first take them out of the box. The smell mellows out in the water, but if you have a sensitive nose, you might want to keep them stored in an airtight container until it's bath time.

The cocktail rings are definitely a fun addition to the bathing experience, and with each one, you get a coupon code for the chance to win a ring worth $1,000 or $5,000. I wasn't a winner this time around, but I still felt like one on the inside.

Can you tell I like rings?

By the end of this review, I came out a cleaner, more blinged-out person. Isn't that what we're all looking for on some level?
