If you paid attention to the dominating trends on the runways at NYFW, you may have noticed some ensembles with bits of psychedelic style inspo.
Yep, it appears tie-dye print is definitely making a comeback in the fashion scene. But, did you know you can rock this eye-catching look on more than just your #OOTD?
Thanks to hair colorist Rickey Zito, you can also don your tresses with this gorgeous tie-dye trend, and I have to say, it looks pretty badass.
So, how exactly do you turn your locks into a kaleidoscope of tie-dye colors?
Well, it's basically the same process you used to tie-dye all sorts of sh*t at summer camp back in the day, except this time, you're tying rubber bands around your hair and not a plain, white shirt.
If you're trying to get in on this trend, you'll be glad to know there's a step-by-step tutorial.
Zito starts off by securing 2-to-4-inch sections of bleached hair with rubber bands. Next, he secures more rubber bands down the length of each section, all a few inches apart, and covers the bands with fabric so the hair underneath will stay uncolored.
He then colors the hair in each section with two shades of dye (he uses Pravana ChromaSilk VIVIDS Locked-In), blending the colors together to ensure an even appearance.
The result is a multicolored tie-dye mane that looks pretty far out, man.
