Going out for date night is nice and all, but sometimes a cozy night in is exactly what you and bae really need. There's no need to cancel date night just because you don't feel like dressing up or being social. Put your creativity to work and think of some adorable indoor date ideas you both will enjoy. Being away from people for awhile can give the two of you a chance to connect and catch up after a busy day.

It's hard not to get stuck in a rut when it comes to nights in. The same old routine is easy to follow and hard to break, but when you do, you'll never be bored again. When you and your boo are out of ideas for a fun and mellow date night, don't be afraid to try something new. Here are a few suggestions to get you started, so you can get to bonding that much sooner.

1. Build A Blanket Fort

Embrace your inner child and build a blanket fort to be proud of. If you need some structural help, a couch and a chair can go a long way toward strengthening your fortress. A stable fort might be challenge to build, but the struggle is half the fun when you're with bae. Once your castle is standing, you can cozy up for a movie night or take the most epic nap in the history of naps.

2. A Table For Two

The only thing better than a fancy dinner out with the person you love is a fancy dinner in. Get yourself all dressed up to enhance that luxurious feeling before you begin your culinary adventure. Bonus points if you and your SO play music and dance around the kitchen while you cook. A wooden spoon is basically a microphone, after all.

3. Movie Marathon

It's a classic date night that's often overlooked in favor of the "Netflix and chill" trend. You two can take turns selecting movies or knock out an entire series in a matter of hours. Don't get me wrong, relaxing on the couch with your sweetheart is a peaceful and enjoyable time, but sitting through an entire movie series is pretty hardcore.

4. Game Night

Games are another seemingly innocent activity that can get intense pretty quickly. Especially if you're a competitive couple, a simple board game can turn into a night of frustration and yelling. It'll make you laugh, and before you know it, the two of you are literally ROFL.

5. Cheer On Your Team

If you can't make it to the big game, bring the game home to you. Grab your favorite snacks, rock your new team T-shirt, and cheer on the team you love from the comfort of your own home. Celebrate a win (or get over a loss) however you like.

6. Bake Off

The only thing more intense than a board game is a baking competition. If you decide to make it extra difficult by setting a timer, you'll be running frantically around the kitchen before you know it. Whether you and bae are on the same team or are competing, your spontaneity is sure to make the simple act of baking a lot more fun.

7. Drinks By The Fire

When the weather starts to cool down, you can build a fire in the fireplace and get cozy with your boo. Warm up a little more with some nice drinks, and you're practically set for the night. Your fave soundtracks can add a little ambience if you'd rather take a break from talking and enjoy each other's company.

8. A Trip Down Memory Lane

Rummaging through old boxes or childhood scrapbooks can be more entertaining than you've ever imagined. There will be plenty to laugh at, and it will be exciting to learn about your partner's life before you entered it. If you're looking through your own stuff, though, be ready for complete and utter embarrassment. Don't worry, they're laughing with you, not at you.
