5 Ways The Scorpio In Your Life Pushes You To Be Your Best Self
I'd like to start off by saying I wouldn't consider myself to be a die-hard fan of horoscopes.
Like most people, I enjoy reading them and occasionally relating to them, but my amusement generally stops there.
While I'm definitely a skeptic, there's one thing even I can't deny: My best friend is the epitome of a Scorpio.
If you're like me, you probably only know the ins and outs of your own sign, so I've provided you with a quote from the ever-informative Astrology.com:
The great strength of the Scorpio-born is in their determination, passion and motivation. Scorpios don't know the word quit, which is why they usually get the job done. A powerhouse? Like no other.
These are five key outcomes of befriending a Scorpio:
1. They'll motivate you to get sh*t done.
Having trouble with those New Year's resolutions? Just ask your Scorpio friend about his or her day, and the conversation will probably go something like this:
"Well, I woke up at 5 am for no reason, so I decided to research the next novel I am going to read. I'm thinking of getting into old English literature.
Then, on my way to work, I saw a poster for a half marathon, so I signed up for it and am in the process of creating a day-by-day training regimen.
Oh, and I also downloaded an app that will help me learn French."
Before you know it, you'll be running on a treadmill and reading Jane Austen, all while reciting the alphabet in French.
2. They'll let you know when it's time to move on.
If you've ever crossed a Scorpio, you can tell when your number was deleted from his or her phone.
Tolerance is not a Scorpio's strong point.
A Scorpio's focus on constant improvement leaves little room for people who have the potential to slow him or her down.
Hang around a Scorpio long enough, and you'll start to notice your own list of contacts beginning to shrink.
3. They'll teach you how to carpe every diem.
They are what some might call stir crazy.
After a two-day weekend bender, most people are completely content with spending their Sunday lying in bed and watching Netflix, only getting up to answer the door for the Seamless delivery guy.
Well, Scorpios aren't most people.
They might be hungover, but you'll never know it.
They'll pound a ginger ale (and probably chase it with a shot or two) and hit up the nearest boozy brunch. Why waste a perfectly good Sunday?
You'll admire their ambition and ultimately rally to join them for bottomless mimosas.
4. They'll push you out of your comfort zone.
If you see a girl alone at a bar chatting it up with literally anyone and everyone, she's a Scorpio.
They are, by nature, extremely curious people.
They don't care about societal conventions.
They'd rather sit down and talk with a retired investment banker than gossip with their friends about whatever's trending on social media.
While it may not be your norm, you'll get dragged into these situations with your Scorpio friend and end up loving it.
5. They'll remind you everyone's human.
This one may seem a little surprising because I just spend the last four points telling you how badass Scorpios are, but everyone has flaws.
It takes a lot for Scorpios to let themselves fall for people but when they do, they fall hard.
Because of their innate curiosity, they often find themselves developing feelings for complex individuals.
This will both keep them interested and drive them absolutely crazy.
The emotion you'll see from a Scorpio in love will remind you that even the most intimidatingly strong people have their weaknesses.
While I may have just made myself out to be some kind of expert in astrology, I assure you I know very little about these galactic prophecies.
But based on my personal experience with my aggressively productive best friend, I can confidently say they got at least one right.
