5 Definite Signs It's Time To Break Up With Your "Best Friend Forever"
Best friends are surely a blessing, but unfortunately, they don't all last forever. Somewhere along the line, you may have to learn the hard way that the "forever" part isn't working out.
Any type of relationship takes work. Even if you seemingly click at first, that's only the beginning of the road to forming and keeping a genuine bond.
Don't kick me off my soapbox just yet.
If you find yourself puzzled and confused while contemplating your friendship with your "best friend forever," chances are, it may be time to cut those ties loose altogether.
Here are a few telltale signs that it's time to break up with your bestie.
1. The Friendship Is More Exhausting Than Exciting
Yes, any bond with another human being takes some tending to, but it shouldn't have you completely spent all of the time.
Whether this is from non-stop drama or just trying to combat a challenging personality, your best friend should be your nirvana... not your hell.
2. Your BFF Loads All Of Her Baggage On You
If you only ever seem to be hearing their problems and giving advice, that's not really fair.
Everyone has problems, and the spewing of misfortunes should be equally voiced between the two of you. You listen to my venting, and you cry, too.
3. Your Dog Doesn't Like Them
I'm not sure why you didn't run for the hills immediately after this realization. Dogs have a sixth sense for crappy people, and if they don't like you, it may mean you're in need of a reality check.
Until then, keep this person not liked by your dog far away from you.
4. You Could Picture Your Life Without Them
If your life would seemingly be unfazed by this person's absence, let them go.
Additionally, if you think your life would actually be better without this person, then I need not say anything else.
5. The Friendship Negatively Affects Your Mood
Friendships are supposed to be uplifting and should build you up, not bring you down.
If your BFF consistently puts you in a bad mood, you're just going to have to give them the boot.
Ultimately, friendships are accessories, and there's no point in ruining an entire outfit over one item that's out of place.
