The nighttime is about to come alive once again at the happiest place on Earth. Disneyland’s nighttime shows and parades are back for 2022, and there’s tons of new food, merch, and spectaculars you do not want to miss.

Not only are nighttime shows at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park returning, but Disney is also celebrating the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade’s 50th anniversary. The festivities include a must-have popcorn bucket for collectors and a brand new float.

Get A Good Spot For The Main Street Electrical Parade

Not only is seeing the Main Street Electrical Parade a must, but you’ll also want a good spot along the parade route to check out the new float. It features classic Disney characters like Aladdin and Jasmine, and new faves like Mirabel from Encanto.

Get A Light Up Popcorn Bucket

In honor of the Main Street Electrical Parade’s return, Disneyland will have a limited edition popcorn bucket and sipper inspired by two iconic parade floats. They light up and will be available throughout the park.

Grab A Specialty Churro

Disneyland will also have all-new churros. There’s a blueberry churro with a cheesecake dipping sauce and a Parade Dreams churro with colorful sugar, fruit drizzle, and rainbow candy on top. You can also get an Electric Sprinkle citrus buttercream dip that looks like Dunkaroos.

The Disneyland Forever fireworks return April 22 as well, and includes light projections on Sleeping Beauty Castle and on Main Street.

Shop The New Main Street Electrical Parade Merch

For the 50th anniversary, Disneyland will have all-new Main Street Electrical Parade merch that includes spirit jerseys, Minnie ears, and Loungefly backpacks.

Try Some Insta-Worthy Snacks

Along with the new churros, Disneyland will also have a new menu of other Insta-worthy snacks. One of the cutest is the Mine Cart Brownie inspired by the seven dwarfs parade float. It’s topped with sugar gems that look like colorful diamonds.

Take Advantage Of The Dining Packages

To get the best viewing spot for the parade and the World of Color show at California Adventure, Disney has some dining packages and dessert parties available. Both will get you delicious food to enjoy and a reserved viewing spot for the nighttime shows.

Over at Disney California Adventure Park, World of Color is returning April 22 as well. The nighttime water show happening in front of Pixar Pier features music and scenes from some of your favorite Disney movies.

More To Come This Summer

While many of the nighttime festivities are beginning April 22, there is more to come this summer at both Disneyland parks. For instance, Fantasmic! will be returning to Disneyland on May 28 and there will be two new collections of Main Street Electrical Parade merch coming to the parks as well.
