It’s the perfect time to reorganize your space so you can step into the new year with more energy and a fresh perspective. Elite Daily spoke with architect and Feng Shui expert Anjie Cho for some simple ways to make your space feel like a sanctuary.
Cho has a fresh way of looking at Feng Shui. “It’s about paying attention to details in your environment and see if they’re supporting you or challenging you,” she says.
Think: less moving furniture and more paying attention to what’s already there.
Feng Shui is about the flow of energy in a space. Instead of moving things around, it’s about shifting your perspective.

What better time to declutter your space than at the start of the new year? “This time of year [...] we spend more time indoors, so we can all benefit more from working on our indoor spaces,” Cho says.
Check out Cho’s five easy Feng Shui 2022 tips to shift the energy in your space.
One of the most important parts of our home is our front door, which Cho calls a “portal.” She says, “[Your] front door represents your face to the world. The door represents how opportunities come to you.” Make sure to keep it clear and clean.
Cho suggests you should stop saying you’re short on space when decluttering. “[Your space] is exactly what you need right now—it can inspire you to make shifts so you can have more in your life,” she says. Appreciate what you do have to create even more abundance.
According to Cho, living plants can work wonders in any room. “They represent wood energy, which is life energy — kindness, flexibility, growth — and can help you cultivate a sense of generosity,” she says.
While we can’t all keep the space under our beds clear and free, Cho gives a few tips for storage. “Make sure any storage is sleep-related and take note of anything emotionally charged or active,” she says. “These thing can impact your subconscious mind.”
Finally, be sure to pay extra attention to your stove. “Your stove represents your wealth and how you nourish yourself,” Cho says. “In order to invite more abundance into your home, make sure it stays clean [and] you use it every day.”
