The Whole World Is Hurting Over This Photo Of A Syrian Boy After An Airstrike
It's hard to put the horror of Syria's civil war into words, but this one photo speaks more than words ever could.
It shows a 5-year-old boy sitting in the back of an ambulance, covered in blood after an airstrike.
The whereabouts of Omran Daqneesh's parents is unknown.
Footage shows the boy looking dazed and confused as a group of people frantically search for survivors in the rubble.
He's covered in dust and wipes blood away from the side of his head.
The video was taken on Wednesday night in Aleppo, where the fight between the government and rebels is only intensifying.
Daqneesh was rescued by volunteers from Syria's Civil Defense group. They also found three other children.
He was taken to the hospital with a head wound.
He was treated and later discharged.
Doctors were not able to locate his parents, who are still believed to be missing.
