Former President Bill Clinton has found a way to spend his time chilling out and not being America's first First Gentleman.

No, he's not becoming a full time hiking guide in the woods alongside Hillary.

And no, he's not diving back into politics by running for something himself.

Instead, Clinton's next move is kind of totally unexpected.

Bill is writing political thriller.

You read that right. Bill Clinton is writing a political thriller. Like those thick paperbacks your dad always has on his bedside table that you tried to pick up but then read a page and were like "lol, Dad, what are you reading? This is ridiculous."

Not only is Clinton writing a novel, but he's pairing up with bestselling author James Patterson to do it.

Patterson has written basically a million books that are all fast-paced twisty thrillers with his name in all caps on the cover. My dad loves him.

If that description doesn't ring a bell, all of Patterson's covers look like this:

...except, you know, all of the rest of them don't also say "BILL CLINTON."

The plot of Clinton and Patterson's book is already hilarious, and I can't wait to read it and giggle endlessly.

The novel is called "The President Is Missing."

Can you guess what happens in it?

Well, the president goes missing.

Mind you, of course, this is all totally fiction and not Bill's real-life fantasy.

The book is supposed to be a "unique amalgam of intrigue, suspense and behind-the-scenes global drama ... informed by insider details that only a president can know," according to its publisher, the New York Times reports.

Clinton is apparently a big fan of Patterson, so this basically sounds like he's finally living his dream writing a thriller like we all say we'll do when we retire.

But Bill's really doing it, fam, and you kind of gotta respect that.

Meanwhile, it sounds like it's been a dream for Patterson, too. He said in a statement,

Working with President Clinton has been the highlight of my career, and having access to his firsthand experience has uniquely informed the writing of this novel. I'm a storyteller, and President Clinton's insight has allowed us to tell a really interesting one. It's a rare combination; readers will be drawn to the suspense, of course, but they'll also be given an inside look into what it's like to be president.

The book's not coming out till June 2018...conveniently right in time for Father's Day.
