It's probably safe to say the next phone call between U.S. President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will be extremely uncomfortable.

On Wednesday night, Turnbull mocked Trump at the Australian Parliament's annual Midwinter Ball, which is more or less the equivalent of the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Australia's Channel Nine decided to leak the audio of his remarks.

Making fun of a meeting he had with Trump in New York last month, Turnbull said, "It was beautiful. It was the most beautiful putting-me-at-ease ever."

Turnbull also did his best impersonation of Trump, which was actually pretty decent, saying,

The Donald and I, we are winning and winning in the polls. We are winning so much! We are winning like we have never won before. We are winning in the polls. We are! Not the fake polls. Not the fake polls. They're the ones we're not winning in. We're winning in the real polls.

Turnbull seemed to be referencing the time Trump claimed any polls that depicted him negatively were fake news.

The Australian prime minister also alluded to Trump's ongoing troubles with Russia.

He said,

You know the online polls. They are so easy to win. I know that. Did you know that? I kind of know that. They are so easy to win. I have this Russian guy. Believe me it's true, it is true.

Trump has never dealt very well with being mocked.

He has frequently thrown Twitter tantrums over how he's been depicted on Saturday Night Live, for example.

A few months ago, Trump and Turnbull reportedly had a heated phone conversation about Australia's refugee policy, so their relationship was rough from the start.

Given all this, it's hard to see Turnbull's comedy routine about Trump helping things. But, at least it was fairly entertaining?

Turnbull addressed his impersonation of Trump on 3AW radio and said it was meant to be a "good-humored roast."
