One Tweet Proves Trump Is Turning The Country Against Him Faster Than Ever

President Donald Trump is the most unpopular new president in modern US history.

A majority of Americans, over half the nation, disapprove of the job he is doing.

By Saturday, January 28, Gallup found 51 percent of Americans disapproved of Donald Trump.

No modern president has ever reached majority disapproval faster than Trump.

In just eight days, he turned over half the country against him, and this tweet perfectly sums up how unprecedented (not "unpresidented") that is.

It took President George W. Bush, widely regarded as one of the worst presidents in US history, three years to reach 50 percent disapproval.

President Trump accomplished this in a little over a week. He's literally setting records for unpopularity.

This is likely linked to the fact that his administration spent its first week spreading alternative facts and issuing executive actions that threaten people's healthcare, separate America from its neighbors and attack some of the world's most vulnerable people, among other things.

Trump has frequently tried to dismiss approval polls, arguing that polls didn't properly predict his victory in the election, so they must not be reliable.

This is a dangerous road for a president to go down.

Public opinion generally has a strong influence on what the president does.

If Trump continues to ignore approval polls and the thousands of Americans taking to the streets to protest his policies, he'll be ignoring the will of the American people.

Given he won't even admit he lost the popular vote, and insists on spreading the myth of mass voter fraud, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise he's in denial about being unpopular.

But if Trump actually wants to be re-elected, he might want to acknowledge what's going on.

It is not normal for a president to turn a majority of the country against himself so quickly.
