Starbucks Vs. Dunkin’: Toasted White Chocolate

Dunkin’ launched a new Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte for the 2021 holiday season. I tasted it alongside Starbucks’ OG Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, which debuted in 2017, to see how they stack up.

Ingredients: Starbucks

The Toasted White Chocolate Mocha is made with 2% milk, toasted white chocolate mocha sauce, and espresso.

It’s topped with whipped cream, holiday sugar sparkles, and crispy white pearls.

Order it hot or iced.

Ingredients: Dunkin’

Dunkin’s new Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte is made with whole milk, toasted white chocolate-flavored swirl syrup, and espresso.

Its festive toppings include whipped cream, caramel swirl, and cinnamon-sugar.

It’s available hot or iced.

Taste: Starbucks

The whipped cream melted almost immediately, but its sweetness and the candy topping hit me right away.

It’s a sweet drink with not much espresso flavor, but it goes down smooth.

There are consistent white chocolate and mocha flavors in every sip.

Taste: Dunkin’

The first sip brings a subtle sweetness from the white chocolate flavor and melted whipped cream, but you can really taste the espresso. I didn’t taste the cinnamon-sugar or caramel toppings.

As you drink, the sweetness builds, and the aftertaste becomes less bitter.

Holiday Cups: Starbucks

The four new designs are colored with red and green hues.

There’s a wrapping paper design, a festive ribbon option, a holiday light “display,” and some classic candy cane stripes.

You can’t choose your design, but all of them are perfect for the ‘Gram.

Holiday Cups: Dunkin’

The four new designs are white with pink lettering and hints of green.

The "holiday moments" include candy crumbs, tangled lights, peeking at gifts, and shaking a snow globe.

The cups are given at random, and they're a low-key way to bring the merry.

Overall

Dunkin’s has a bit more caffeine and is slightly cheaper, but the major difference comes down to taste.

For a sweeter sip, go with Starbucks’ Toasted White Chocolate Mocha.

For just a hint of holiday, Dunkin’s new Toasted White Chocolate Signature Latte is your pick.
