Drake Collecting Birkin Bags For His Future Wife Is The Most Drake Thing You've Ever Heard

It's easy to lose faith in love nowadays. How are you expected to hold on to the idea of one day finding true love when the person you thought was your forever person ghosted you last Tuesday? Or maybe they never even had the chance to ghost you because they never swiped right on your profile, so here you are left with a one that got away (who was never really yours to begin with). But I offer you one singular glimmer of hope that might make you feel better about your future: Drake collects Birkin bags for the woman who will one day be his wife. Tell me this is not somehow simultaneously the most and least surprising thing you've ever heard.

Regardless, love IS real. Yes, this is pretty wonderful ,and yes, it is a rare reminder that maybe there are some hopeless romantics left out there. But... are any of us surprised? I mean, you guys, come on. It's Drake. This is the guy who turned his VMAs speech into a profession of love on live television. This is a guy who gets really sad about fighting with his girlfriend at the Cheesecake Factory. This is a guy who literally has a dog named Diamond. Are we REALLY surprised that he, of all people, would have an extensive collection of Birkin bags that he's saving up for his one true love someday?

If you're still not convinced that this is actually a real thing that Drake does and not just some sort of oddly specific tabloid rumor, watch him admit it in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter here:

Let me break this down for you. In a series of "fill in the blank" style questions, The Hollywood Reporter asked Drake to fill in this blank: "People would be surprised to know that I am a fan of ___."

He could have said anything! He could have said he's a fan of Meek Mill, despite their very public beef (not sure if this is true, but, like, that would've been cool). He could have said he's a fan of the show Ozark. (He actually already said this earlier in the interview so maybe he couldn't have said that one.) He could've said he's a huge fan of some other commercial restaurant chain that surprised the world just as much as when we found out he was casually going to the Cheesecake Factory with his ex. He could've said he's a Warriors fan, even though he's not from the Bay. But no, instead, Drake decided to talk about his extensive Birkin bag collection:

I'm a fan of Hermès Birkins. You know, there's very few things in this world, tangible things anyway, that hold their value and sort of appreciate as the years go on. So, it was one of those things that I started collecting as well for the woman I end up with one day. So I have a fairly vast collection of Hermès to offer somebody at some point in life.

So, yeah, while most of us would have probably responded with, like, a sports team or a TV show, Drake went with Birkin bags and decided to turn a fairly casual moment into a super, extra romantic gesture, which is pretty much the most Drake thing ever.

Well, here's to hoping Drake finds his one true love to shower with Birkin bags, which I'm sure will be the smallest of a long string of over-the-top romantic gestures she'll be receiving for the rest of her life.
