Gird yourself, Swifties. At midnight on Oct. 20, T.Swift dropped "Gorgeous," the third track off her upcoming album, Reputation, and we're all already trying to figure out who the song is about. The song is full of clues, but one seems to be pretty specific, and it's making people wonder... is "Gorgeous" about Tom Hiddleston?

The song is pretty clearly about meeting and falling for someone who's bad for you (groundbreaking material coming from Taylor Swift), and there's hints aplenty that it could be any number of names that have been romantically linked to our girl Tay. But one clue stands out that it might be about her ex, Tom Hiddleston — namely, these lines:

And I got a boyfriend, he's older than us / He's in the club doing I don't know what

Is he now, Tay?

And then these:

Ocean blue eyes looking in mine / I feel like I might sink and drown and die

Hm, who do we know who has blue eyes... ? Could it be... Tom Hiddleston?

OK, so the song has been out for basically about 20 minutes, but the theory is already complete: fans think it's all about how Taylor Swift met Tom Hiddleston at the 2016 Met Gala, when she was still teeeechnically dating Calvin Harris. (The two broke up about a month later.) The pair were caught on camera together, dancing up a storm and having a blast, all while TayTay's actual boyfriend, Harris, was nowhere to be seen.

The clues add up.

And the whole thing about how they met works too — Swift describes being drunk and making "fun of the way you talk" (like, say, an accent?). And check out the second verse, where she talks about touching hands in a darkened room:

You should take it as a compliment / That I'm talking to everyone here but you / And you should think about the consequence / Of you touching my hand in the darkened room / If you've got a girlfriend, I'm jealous of her / But if you're single that's honestly worse / 'Cause you're so gorgeous it actually hurts / (Honey, it hurts)

Of course, there's one flaw in the whole thing — technically, Tom Hiddleston is older than Calvin Harris. (Hids is currently 36, while Harris is a mere 33.) Tay herself is, as we all know, born in 1989 and therefore currently 27, so while she's younger than both of them, Harris definitely isn't "older than 'us.'"

So other option? It couuuuld be about her current honey, Joe Alwyn.

He does fit some of the criteria — he's blue-eyed too, and also has a British accent (honestly, the image of T.Swift getting vodka-drunk and putting on a bad fake British accent is a little too good to let go of, so we're just going to roll with it). Only problem is that she was, apparently, single when they met, so the whole "my boyfriend is somewhere else" thing doesn't quite work.

So basically, fans are real confused.

So who knows? Only Tay, apparently.

But fiiiiiine, if you want to ruin the mystery, there's a rumor going around that she told fans at her Secret Session listening parties that the song was all about her current beau, Alwyn. Who knows if it's true, but that's one point on the side of "about Joe."

Me, personally? I choose to believe in "Gorgeous" Hiddleswift. It was celebrity gossip perfection, and it ended just too soon.

Besides, you're never going to convince me that Tom Hiddleston doesn't deserve to be the subject of a song called "Gorgeous." #Hiddleswift4Eva.
