You might have a blazer handy or you can borrow a sport coat from a suit. Goodwill or a consignment shop might be your friend in a pinch, but Amazon has a loose and stylish Mango option that you'll likely wear again. Clothes are important, but as with many costumes, hair and makeup are the ever-important kickers that make or break the whole thing. You will need some serious smokey-eye action for this. If you don't know how to achieve that you can pop over to YouTube for the zillions of tutorials they offer or get some inspiration here and here, but the good thing is that it doesn't have to be totally perfect and neat. You're not necessarily going to achieve Sienna Miller smudgy smokey eye circa 2004 — you're taking things up a notch or two. As for the hair... If you're lucky enough to have an on-trend bob or a short 'do, all you have to do is apply gel. Though, wigs are always there to help. When in doubt, a slicked-back Elvis should do the trick. Just chop off those pesky sideburns if you need to. Next year you can go as the King or you can take the opportunity to channel Miley Cyrus' "Younger Now" get-up. Just sayin.'
