Demi Lovato & Selena Gomez Reunited At The InStyle Awards & Fans Are Freaking Out
Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez finally got together again... and there’s actual photographic evidence! Last night at the InStyle Awards, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez reunited to pose together and all those old school BFF feels came flooding back for so many fans.
OK, let’s get the fashion piece out of the way first. Both ladies looked amazing, with Lovato going with a floor length lilac gown with a thigh-high slit and a natural look with her hair and makeup. Total perfection. Gomez wore a spaghetti strap little black dress with an asymmetrical hem, her hair slicked back, and also a natural look with a nude lip. Stunning.
Now that that’s covered, let the freak out begin. Lovato and Gomez have had their ups and downs over the years, but it looks like all is well between these two. Gomez recently reached out to Lovato when her Simply Complicated documentary came out and fans were thrilled to see the two following each other on social media again. It’s the little things, but hey, it’s important.
Gomez wrote in response to Lovato’s Instagram post about Simply Complicated: "This was beautiful. I'm so happy for you. You always continue to [be] bold and real. I wish more people were like you. Love you."
Lovato replied: “@selenagomez thank you so much, this means the world to me and more. Love you too.” My heart.
It was magical, for sure, but the exchange also left fans wanting to see these two get together in real life again. Well, your wish came true, it turns out.
Gomez and Lovato posed together at the InStyle Awards, arms around each other, and obviously happy to be hanging out for the photo moment. Gomez presented Hung Vanngo with the Makeup Artist of the Year Award and Lovato received the Advocate of the Year Award (presented by Kelly Rowland) at the event.
So, let’s dig into that fan response, shall we? There was plenty of happiness flowing from the Delena moment, with tweets like: “DEMI AND SELENA TOGETHER MAKES ME HAPPY” and “DEMI AND SELENA! My heart is so happy.” Same.
The reunion had people in the Disney zone, with one fan tweeting: "Delena reuniting last night brings my old disney heart so much joy" and it was enough to get one fan thinking about a Disney Channel movie reunion, as they tweeted: “DEMI AND SELENA REUNITED WHO IS READY FOR PRINCESS PROTECTION PROGRAM 2.” Somebody please make this happen.
The nostalgia was also strong, with fans sharing old pics of the two posing together and a sweet video they did back in the day. Anyone else feeling old? Well... anyway...
And this comment is so, so relatable: “Out of all the pain and hurt in this world, Selena and Demi taking pictures is the only thing that brings me joy. My childhood is crying.”

Not all friendships can stand the test of time and while these two have been on shaky ground in the past, it looks like everything is solid between the two. Now about that Princess Protection Program 2... I'm totally serious.
