Selena Gomez Was Spotted Wearing The Weeknd's Jacket After Split, So That's Awkward
Listen, I'm not here to tell anyone how to handle their super-public, famous person breakup. It's not my job to weigh in on things I know actually nothing about. If these photos of Selena Gomez wearing The Weeknd's jacket after their super-big-deal breakup prove one thing, it's that everyone, including Queen Selena, is capable of making strange AF decisions leaving us all like, "What the actual F...?"
Hate to break it to you guys, but celebrities are people, too.
On Oct. 30, People magazine broke the news that The Weeknd and Selena Gomez were ending their relationship after being together for ten months. Apparently, the relationship had been on the rocks for a while, despite the glorious photos they've given us during their time together. Now, the famous musicians have officially thrown in the towel.
Elite Daily reached out to both Gomez and The Weeknd's teams for comment on their split, but did not hear back by the time of publication.
One insider claims that their grueling schedules had something to do with it, and despite Gomez's "best efforts" to be at all of The Weeknd's shows, she could only do so much.
The source said,
She [Selena] and Abel [The Weeknd] have been going back and forth for a few months about their relationship. It’s been hard with him being on tour and her shooting in New York. That wasn’t easy on them.
Now, just three days after their breakup went public, Gomez is wearing The Weeknd's jacket out about about.
WHY?
I don't know. Maybe it's because she secretly misses him and wants to feel closer to him. Maybe she's hoping he sees the photos and thinks of her. Maybe she just likes the jacket and can't remember how or when or why she acquired it. Famous people get free sh*t all the time, maybe she got it out of her free sh*t pile.
It's hard to jump to the conclusion it's because she is missing The Weeknd, especially since she posted a happy-go-lucky video riding her bicycle and singing her new hit "Wolves" a day after we found out about her breakup.
Man, she loves that bike.
Plus, she's been low-key hanging out with infamous ex, Justin Bieber, making the whole jacket move even weirder. It's like she's trying to throw us off her romantic life scent or something!
TMZ caught up with Gomez and Bieber snagging breakfast alone at a cafe in Westlake Village, and also reported that they recently hung out at Gomez's home.
WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?
Friends of Bieber claim he is making a concerted effort to win her back, but knows he has a lot of making up to do.
The source told Elle,
Justin is aware Selena’s family is not thrilled they are hanging out. They think he caused Selena a lot of grief. Justin hopes he can prove to them that he has changed.
From what we can tell, Biebs has been on a full on mental and spiritual journey. His friend added,
He has changed a lot in the past few months. He is a very different person. They [Selena and Justin] have a lot to talk about and are having fun catching up.
Not if that jacket has anything to do with it.
For his part, The Weeknd has already been caught dancing with other women and shared his own jacket-focused photo. A day after their split, he captioned this super boring selfie "Toronto nights." Later, he was videotaped in the same outfit nuzzling a woman in a night club.
All of this to say — we don't know what the hell is going on.
