Another day, another drama drama. But not for Kim Kardashian West — it's the eve of the release for her new perfume from KKW Beauty, set to drop Nov. 15. And as many a Kardashian/Jenner product are known to sell out in mere minutes, I've got all the details on where to buy Kim Kardashian perfume.
Before I get into Kardashian West's newest scent, I want to take a trip down memory lane and remember that the old Kimmy launched her first perfume in 2010, and my, how things have changed over the past seven years. Two husbands and soon-to-be three kids later, Kardashian West has definitely grown up. After a chic rebranding of KKW Beauty, and fresh off the tracks of her knockout contour kits, the reality star is taking a second stab at fragrances. And just in time for the holidays — a coincidence? I think not.
Kardashian West has been mercilessly teasing her social media followers about this potential new product for too long (the KKW Fragrance Twitter account has been around for 10 months already!), and officially dropped the bombshell announcement at the Forbes Women's Summit back in June. The most beautiful, talentless mogul around is finally ready to make us all smell a little more glam, so bookmark the KKW Fragrance site and get ready to act fast, because Nov. 15 is when the scent bombs will drop.
Back in October, Kardashian West posted stripped-down teaser pics on Twitter without revealing much about the fragrances and mostly just showing off her bodacious bod. The image is indicative of 2017's chicer-than-thou Kim Kardashian — Mrs. West is wearing almost no jewelry, only her minimalist replacement wedding band.
Earlier in November, Kardashian West took the promotional teasers a step further and showcased the again-minimal packaging for the fragrance boxes. But what's inside? Kiki, give us a little something more, please!
On Nov. 3 (damn, so close to being able to make a Mean Girls reference), Kardashian West nearly brought me to tears by divulging that she would be releasing not one, not two, but three fragrances within a matter of weeks. If you want to do some Taylor Swift fan-level detective work, you could say it's one fragrance each for the three eldest Kardashian siblings — Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe. But I'm not sure Kanye would approve of that.
Are you getting frustrated, anxious, and annoyed that I haven't given you more information on the fragrances and their launch? Now you know what my life has been like for the past few months. My thirst level has hovered at constant, and I've yearned for any little tidbits about the KKW perfumes. Speaking of my Kardashian-related dehydration, the thirst for knowledge about Khloe and Kylie's rumored pregnancies is real AF.
OK, so back to the fragrances. Kardashian West definitely has a thing for crystals and gardenias (which she once mistakenly credited as orchids, oops girl). So it makes sense that the three fragrances KKW is releasing are Crystal Gardenia, Crystal Gardenia Citrus, and Crystal Gardenia Oud. I took the liberty of assuming you don't know what oud is because I didn't either: It's made from the wood of agar trees and, shocker, it's one of the most expensive fragrance ingredients out there. If you're actually shocked that Kardashian West would use one of the priciest ingredients on the market, we can't be friends.
I'm not sure why it took the social media empress so long to introduce #KKWFRAGRANCE, but at least she followed it up by describing that her flagship Crystal Gardenia scent "offers a top note of water lily, timeless gardenia, tiara flower and velvet tuberose. Warm woods and skin must provide a contouring effect to the signature finish."
I mean, a contouring effect for a fragrance? That's a stretch even if you're Spanx. Pretty shameless contour kit plug, Kiki.
As for the Crystral Gardenia Citrus scent, Kardashian West explained it "includes top notes of sparkling citrus, woods and musks while capturing all stages of a flower." I'm not sure how it could convey every stage of a flower, from bud to bloom, but I kinda trust her on this one.
Certainly the sexiest and luxest fragrance of the lot, Crystal Gardenia Oud "opens with captivating top notes of bergamot, lavender, red rose and jasmine," while "deep notes of oud, patchouli and royal amber deepen the signature scent." If you've never sniffed oud before, you won't know how distinct the note really is, so I wouldn't purchase this one without smelling it first. Oud is reportedly like Lady Sovereign — you either love it or hate it.
Kardashian West has confirmed that the Crystal Gardenia and Crystal Gardenia Citrus fragrances will come in two sizes: 30ml for $35 and 75ml for $60. Crystal Gardenia Oud will only be available in the 75ml option, so again, be sure you're into that one before you buy.
The fragrances with be sold only at KKWFragrance.com starting Nov. 15, but if you happen to live in Los Angeles, you can visit Violet Grey to sniff Crystal Gardenia. No word yet on what time of day the fragrances launch, but I wouldn't sleep late tomorrow, and I'd refresh Kimmy's Instagram account all day.
If you're still curious about the perfumes, watch the above behind-the-scenes video and check out Kardashian West's Q&A with some of her followers to get more info. I can't answer all of your questions, OK? I have other things to do! I have to make money so I can buy all three perfumes — because I'm clearly a KKW superfan.
