What would you do if I told you that a bus dedicated to guacamole was making its way around the country this summer? Would you take your camera out in preparation for some prime IG content, or grab your favorite tortilla chips for a serious snacking session? Either way, get ready — because Wholly Guacamole's "Guaclandia" bus is traveling the U.S. It's literally an avocado-themed mobile exhibit that'll make your Instagram (and snacking) dreams come true. Get hungry, y'all.
You read that correctly. A bus dedicated to guacamole is touring select cities throughout summer 2018, and you won't even have to "pay extra" to see it. The avocado experience — cleverly called Guaclandia — was created by Wholly Guacamole in effort to promote the company's new Snack Cups. The Snack Cups will be offered during the bus tour so visitors can try the new flavors, which include Classic, Spicy, and Homestyle. Each container even comes with "crunchy tortilla chips," so you won't even have to bring your own. It's a total win-win.
In addition to Wholly Guacamole samples, Guaclandia will also provide guests with photo ops and activities. According to the company's press release, some activities include sitting in the "pit" of an avocado chair, winning prizes in an avocado-inspired arcade, and taking selfies at a "pop-art style" avocado wall. Plus, a jumbo ball pit will be waiting for visitors when they're done with the experience (they'll have to slide into it on their way out).
If I didn't already convince you to stop by the event when it rolls into town, maybe Diana Pusiri will. Pusiri is the senior brand manager of Wholly Guacamole, and she talked about Guaclandia in a press release. Pusiri said, "Guacamole is more than a food—it’s a cultural phenomenon." (True.) "Guaclandia is designed to celebrate guacamole’s place in pop culture by providing guac fans with a fun and immersive avocado experience. It’s an opportunity to have fun with friends and family while enjoying great tasting guacamole made with real ingredients."
TBH, I couldn't agree more. Bring on the guac.
Before you go searching for Guaclandia in your neighborhood, you should probably know where it's going to stop. Unfortunately, there are only four lucky cities that'll get to experience the mobile avocado exhibit: San Francisco, California; Los Angeles, California; Seattle, Washington; and Chicago Illinois. (If you aren't living in one of those spots, it might be time to take a road trip.)
San Franciscans saw the bus on from July 27-28 at the San Francisco Marathon Expo, while those in Los Angeles will see it on Aug. 3 and Aug. 5 at the International Surf Festival. Guac lovers in Seattle will experience Guaclandia on Aug. 10 and Aug. 12 at Kirland Summerfest, and people in Chicago will witness it on Aug. 17 and Aug. 19 at the Evanston Art and Big Fork Festival. For specific times and more details, check out Wholly Guacamole's website.
Those of you living in the selected cities should get ready for a guac — er, I mean, great — time. Guaclandia is free of charge and open to the public, but space is limited. Get there early, have fun, and take tons of selfies at the avocado wall for me.
