Stephen Curry's Wife Ayesha Is Trending For The Worst Reason, Again

by Joseph Milord

After another social media controversy that has nothing to with her at all, Ayesha Curry is back at the top of Twitter's trending charts.

Following Kyrie Irving's own rise to the No. 1 trending topic in the US (thanks to a fascinating episode that had everyone talking), Stephen Curry's wife followed close behind, and it's obvious why.

Let's break it down: Kehlani was deemed by the court of public opinion to have cheated on Kyrie Irving. Furthermore, any time the topic of a woman's behavior becomes the subject du jour on Twitter, particularly when that conversation largely involves women of color, Ayesha Curry gets thrown into the mix.

Why? Because she's widely thought of as the ideal woman to be in a relationship with in a world where there are so few prominent examples of famous women who are just that.

Because, obviously, everyone would rather have an Ayesha Curry than one of "dem hoes."

Alright, you get the point.

But of all the out-of-nowhere appearances that Ayesha has made in these discussions, this one, albeit predictable, is still the most ridiculous.

When Russell Westbrook's wife, Nina, made comments insinuating that women should dress more modestly, it had nothing to do with Ayesha, but Curry still ended up trending because of that tweet she sent months ago.

Everyone's into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters — Ayesha Curry (@ayeshacurry) December 6, 2015

Fine.

When Kim Kardashian hopped out the bed and decided she wanted people to see her naked again, that also had nothing to do with Ayesha. But since that tweet was about how women dress, the comparison was again convenient.

Alright, whatever.

But this? This is a relationship that has nothing do with Ayesha or anything she's ever said publicly, which ultimately shows the extent to which people have obsessed over her as the golden girl of our time.

That obsession is very much real. So tune in next time a female celebrity does something controversial that makes her less of a "respectable" woman. Ayesha Curry will probably be involved, whether she wants to be our not.
