In 2012, US gymnast McKayla Maroney wasn't impressed.

Recently, the gold medalist started showing off her hotness on Instagram, and we were definitely impressed.

Now, it appears Maroney is the one who's more than impressed... by the fact US Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps has managed to steal the torch from her for best Olympic meme.

As you can see in the video above, McKayla Maroney spoke with TMZ Sports about how amazing the viral Phelps Face meme is.

First, Maroney addressed the meme of her signature face from 2012, which went viral almost instantly. She said,

I didn't choose this life. I didn't.

Then, while looking at all the newly viral memes of Phelps from Monday night, Maroney said,

I'm looking at them right now, they're amazing. I now see why people thought it was so funny. They're hilarious.

Finally, McKayla Maroney admitted Michael Phelps has most definitely taken the torch for best Olympic meme. She appeared to be pretty happy about it, though, saying,

Yes! Go Michael! Take it away, please!

Sounds like McKayala Maroney is pumped she's no longer known as the greatest viral Olympic meme of all time. Phelps, it's on you now, man. Congratulations.
