For her 2022 Met Gala look, Cara Delevingne certainly made a statement in more ways than one, as the actor and model walked along the Met steps wait a look (and gait) no one saw coming. Although Delevingne departed the Mark Hotel in New York City with a red, cropped military drummer jacket and matching, tailored red pants, she took her look in a different direction once she got in front of the cameras.

Once on the red carpet, Delevingne essentially said, “Gilded glamour? I’ll give you gilded glamour.”

The star promptly disrobed on the carpet, removing her jacket and walking the red carpet topless, save for pasties, body jewelry, and metallic gold paint covering her upper body and feet.

Even without her jacket, Delevingne’s look — body paint, gold jewelry, and all — stayed true to the “gilded glamour” aspect of the 2022 Met Gala theme, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” which highlights the prosperity of America’s Gilded Age.

Delevingne’s Met Gala beauty look, too, complemented the night’s theme. Her baby blonde hair was styled in soft, old Hollywood-style waves.

Meanwhile, Delevingne’s eye makeup captured the true opulence gilded glamour. Her makeup artist adorned her eyes with colorful gold rhinestones, arranged in a large wing.

Delevingne’s look also featured matching red platform heels and a black walking cane with gold accents, adding to her overall “ringleader” vibe.

Jacket or no jacket, one thing is clear: Delevingne will always make a statement on the Met Gala red carpet.
