Trooping the Colour is an event that’s near and dear to the hearts of royal watchdogs. Every year (sans lockdown years), the royal family gathers in their finest ‘fits to watch a traditional military parade.

For Trooping the Colour 2022, the Duchess of Cambridge rode in a horse-drawn carriage to the Platinum Jubilee celebration looking timeless in an elegant white Alexander McQueen coatdress. Middleton was previously spotted in this look at the 2020 G7 summit. We stan a sustainable queen (in waiting).

The duchess kept her composure while two of her children grimaced their way through the military parade. Her posture puts the diamond and sapphire jewelry she’s wearing, formerly owned by Princess Diana, on full display.

Prince William arrived in a slightly different fashion — on horseback wearing military dress in his role as Colonel of the Irish Guards. Before you ask, yes, that hat is made of bear skin and fur.

While it was thought that Queen Elizabeth II might be unable to attend Trooping the Colour, she was spotted beaming on the balcony of Buckingham Palace in a pale blue coatdress trimmed with pearls.

Britain's longest-reigning monarch paired her coat and matching hat with pearls and her signature Brigade of Guards brooch that she brings out annually for Trooping the Colour.

The littlest Cambridges — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — were all dressed in blues: George in a dark suit, Charlotte in a sweet sundress, and Louis in a look you might have seen before...

It’s the same suit his father wore for Trooping the Colour in 1985. Honestly, it’s an adorable little homage. That said, tiny Prince William seemed slightly more at ease on the balcony than tiny Prince Louis.

The youngest of the Cambridges did not seem thrilled during the military flyover, which is a component of the Trooping the Colour parade.
