This. Look. Is. Everything.

Lil Nas X *always* serves at awards shows and the 2022 Grammys red carpet is no exception. The rapper turned out in custom Balmain that read as a tribute to his record-breaking album, Montero.

Does the butterfly imagery on Lil Nas X’s pearl-embellished Balmain ‘fit look familiar to you? If you obsessively listened to Montero, it probably does. The rapper’s entire Grammys red carpet look is filled with nods to his album art.

I, for one, agree with E! Red Carpet host Laverne Cox who told Lil Nas X, “This is such a slay-age. You could go home now." Between the ornate patterns, embellishments, and quilting that decorate this ‘fit from head-to-toe and the rapper’s aqua beauty look, I am truly deceased.

Butterflies adorn Lil Nas X’s Balmain jacket on the arms and back as well as on the chest. In addition to the butterflies, the rapper’s ‘fit serves up the kind of details that characterized the dreamy opening his “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” music video.

The pop of delicate aqua on Lil Nas X’s inner eyes is an exact shade match of the blue butterfly decorating the front of his jacket. His diamond drop earrings also add a touch of sparkle in a different texture than that of his pants and jacket.

Lil Nas X’s “go big or go home” attitude extends to his Grammys red carpet look. The pearls and crystals studding his entire ‘fit from head to toe are *literally* all over everything.

When I say this is a fully head-to-toe look, I am not joking. The extensive, incredibly detailed stoning — that quilted design? I’m gagged — extends all the way down to Lil Nas X’s “flatform” shoes.
