Half Marie Antoinette, half ice cream sundae, this is one of Megan Thee Stallion’s sweetest looks in the video. Her glam here is pretty understated — all pops of pink and sweetness — and definitely doesn’t tip us off as to what’s to come.
Post-Euphoria, I’ve been thirsting for a glitter moment and Dua Lipa delivers. When “Sweetest Pie” goes from sweet to sinister, the pop star’s makeup follows suit and switches from dewy neutrals to this smokey red accented with a glittery inner eye.
Channeling Cleopatra, Megan Thee Stallion’s second major look of the video is a throwback to the bronze-y metallic lids and two-toned lips of the ‘90s. It’s giving major Destiny’s Child vibes and I, for one, am here for it.
As things start to heat up, the tone of “Sweetest Pie” gets dark as Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa reveal some of their witchy powers. If you can look away from Dua Lipa’s literal pie face moment, you’ll glimpse her gold leaf mani with some edgy texture to it.
It is hard not to focus on Megan Thee Stallion’s gorgeous brow bone highlight here, but I’m also obsessed with her coffin-shaped taupe mani. It’s a subtle shade that really picks up on the metallics in her glam.
We already know Megan loves a throwback beauty moment and this frosted whiteout look which is definite callback to ‘90s beauty. The look levels up via the eyeshadow placement: the color drapes past Megan’s lids for a dramatic smokey effect.
There are bones on her nails! Spines! It’s serving voodoo queen realness and I literally yelped when I saw them. You can’t talk about the bone nails without also talking about the spider jewelry, which is both a statement necklace and a body suit.
Throughout the video, Dua Lipa wears dark wing-tipped liner. When she and Megan are tied to the stake and set aflame for being witches, a layer of gold is added to her liner look and the whole lid is coated in a shimmering gloss.
Forked snake tongue aside, this beauty look is giving us a lot to look at. There’s the dark liner and nude lip combo, the frosted brow bone highlight, and this gorgeous ombre smokey eye that I’m dying to try to replicate.
Note to self: Never try to burn Dua Lipa at the stake. Post-flames, the pop icon emerges like a phoenix from the ashes with a gorgeous wash of gold color on her lids.
