It might not feel like spring yet, but it was definitely springtime on the 2022 Oscars red carpet. Celebrities like Zoë Kravitz, Demi Singleton, and Lily James were all seen in pastels. Shades of lilac, pale pink, and baby blue were among the top shades favored by the stars.

For her first Oscars red carpet, Demi Singleton opted for a strapless Miu Miu gown with a structured bodice and column skirt in a gorgeous shade of lilac. The King Richard star looked like a vision of springtime, especially given the pale green beads embellishing the gown.

Singleton accessorized her custom Miu Miu gown with strappy silver sandals and Messika Paris jewelry. Her metallic silver mani paired perfectly with her gown’s all-over crystal bead embellishments.

Lily James also chose a pastel gown for the Oscars in a very pale shade of pink accented with deeper pink and pale purple embroidery. The Versace gown featured a sky-high slit up one thigh and a sweetheart neckline.

The pastel softness of James’ gown was given a bit of an edge by its design details. Small sections of mesh on the bust broke up the sweetness of the floral embroidery as did the crystal-embellished buckles on both straps.

15-year-old Saniyya Sidney wowed on the red carpet in a Giorgio Armani gown that was an explosion of pastel gorgeousness. The pale seafoam gown was covered from strapless neckline to full-skirted hemline in crystals and glitter appliques.

The detailing on the King Richard star’s gown was even more gorgeous up close and the actor herself agreed, telling Vanity Fair, I fell in love with the incredible attention to detail. It was so stunning to see the highest level of craftsmanship, in person.”

Taking a break from her Catwoman aesthetic, Zoë Kravitz served up major Audrey Hepburn vibes in a stunning Saint Laurent gown. Kravitz’s gown suggests springtime delicacy from its shade of softest pink to the petal-like pleating of its neckline bow.

While the gown dazzled on its own, Kravitz’s shine was turned up to 10 with Kwiat jewelry. The Batman star wore diamond earrings from the brand along with its “Between Us” necklace, which features over 36 carats of white and pink diamonds.

Kodi Smit-McPhee was one of the night’s breakout stars, both on and off the red carpet. The Power of the Dog actor wore custom Bottega Veneta from head to toe in an alluring shade of baby blue.

Pastels generally look great on everyone so its no great feat to wear them well. Wearing a fully monochromatic luxury tuxedo with matching boots all in the same pastel shade though? That’s a fashion feat and Smit-McPhee scored top marks.
