Spring isn’t technically here yet, but the spring nail trends of 2022 have officially arrived. So I asked celebrity nail artists Natalie Minerva — the brains behind Euphoria’s wild nail art — and Brittney Boyce, founder of Nails of LA, to break down this season’s most wanted manis.

1. Neon Pastel Nails

Minerva loves neon pastels, “because it’s the excitement and anticipation of summer, but with the more muted feeling of typical spring tones.” Don’t be scared to go bold when picking neon polish. The idea is to start ultra-bright and then sheer out.

2. The Graphic French Mani Trend

Boyce has seen an uptick of French manicures with a twist. “Statement graphics like hearts, dollar signs, and other things to express your vibe,” are being paired with this classic style, she says.

3. Retro Nails

“I’ve been seeing a ton of nails inspired by ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘90s designs,” Minerva shares. “I love vintage-inspired designs with a breath of modernism added to it.” One way to embody this trend? Go mod with abstract shapes in your favorite polish shade.

4. Butterfly Nail Design

“Butterflies are always so classically spring,” Minerva tells me. The nail artist also shares that she’s starting to see many versions of butterflies on nails, so this is a trend you can truly make your own.

5. Jelly Nails

“Remember jelly shoes from the ‘90s?” Boyce asks. “These bright yet transparent shades are so fun and look like jelly candy,” she explains of this spring nail trend.
