Gigi Hadid's Trainer Says This Specific Workout Will Get You In Killer Shape
She landed herself a coveted spot in the 2015 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show and she's dating former One Direction member Zayn Malik, and if that wasn't reason enough to be jealous of Gigi Hadid, she also has a rockin' bod most would kill for.
Unlike most VS models, however, Gigi is fairly athletic for her profession, which is what makes her and the other models who train at Gotham Gym in New York City stand out from the rest.
After doing some research, we found out the 20-year-old model is not only athletic, but also quite the avid boxer.
Elite Daily spoke to her trainer, boxer-turned-Gotham-Gym-owner Rob Piela, and asked him a few questions about the supermodel, his boxing regime at the hardcore training gym and how we, too, can achieve that rock-hard look.
At first glance, it's quite possible one could mistake Gotham Gym for a Victoria's Secret runway show based upon the clientele.
Gotham, however, which follows the slogan, “If you don't belong, don't be long,” isn't just your ordinary gym in New York.
Rob has been training celebrities for over 20 years. In addition to Gigi, he also trains Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Irina Shayk, among others.
When asked how Gotham's approach to fitness differs from other boxing gyms, Rob said,
We feel that our combination of strict boxing, strength and conditioning fundamentals mixed with a fun AND intense environment makes us unique.
When most think of the stereotypical model, words like "dainty" and "delicate" come to mind, but not with these badass babes.
When asked how the clients at Gotham differ from the standard model, Rob said he believes most of the women that train at his gym are "very athletic." He added that modes like Gigi prefer boxing as a form of exercise because, as he says,
It delivers a full body workout. The members' cardiovascular and muscular systems get pushed to the limit.
When asked what keeps them coming back, Rob said,
We believe that we deliver an overall experience that people like to be around. The workouts, music, the build-out of the gym etc.
Rob very rarely gives interviews or speaks to the media, so I couldn't get much more out of him than that.
But I now know what I need to do if I want to get a bod like Gigi's: get in the boxing ring and kick ass.
