Twitter Is Getting A Little Heated After That Viral Tinder Couple's Maui Vacation

Let's face it: We were all probably hoping for an instant Prince Charming and Tinderella story for that viral Tinder couple who went on their first date in Maui. We wanted fairy tale endings and romantic explosions of love fireworks. But this is the real world, you guys. Rachel picked Bryan on The Bachelorette for God's sake. Anna Faris and Chris Pratt broke up. There is no hope.

It seems Twitter doesn't even think there's hope for Josh Avsec and Michelle Arendas, who just got back from their first date in Maui. After matching on Tinder three years ago and periodically responding to each other as part of a sarcastic joke they kept going, Tinder offered to send the two to Maui to finally get them on a first date. But first, Josh and Michelle made a pit stop in New York to meet on Good Morning America. 

The television show's team tagged along with Josh and Michelle on their date (third wheels for life!!!!) to see how everything went. Josh and Michelle spent their time riding bikes and sipping drinks on the beach, and while they "haven't made any concrete plans" to hang out again yet, Michelle said she is sure their "paths will cross."

Some people were really rooting for this couple.

But it looks like Twitter isn't buying this love story. A lot of people have called out the fact that Josh and Michelle becoming ~a thing~ looks pretty unlikely.

This person thinks maybe the fact that camera crews were following them everywhere made connecting a little hard.

Another person made this pretty accurate observation.

Of course, despite the fact that Twitter seems to have decided the fate of this couple, there's no way for us to really know what'll happen between them. Josh even told the GMA, "With everything going on, it's been kind of hard to talk about the little things, like when we do go back, but I'm pretty sure — she's so much fun, I know once we get back home, we're gonna wanna meet up again.”

SO WHO KNOWS, you guys??? Maybe there's hope and they will go on a second date. Maybe they'll never see each other again. Maybe the world will end before we ever find out anyway. Whatever happens, let's just hope Josh and Michelle find their happiness.
